2025 Renegades Ice Breaker Schedule

Everyone:

Our apologies for this second schedule change but we have had a team drop out of the tournament this weekend.

PLEASE CHECK THE APP FOR UPDATES. I have also attached a "grid" schedule just to be sure.

Please remember to send in your rosters and, for travel teams, your Travel Permit / Proof of Insurance to kim@whiterockrenegades.com if you have not already done so.

Thank you for your patience and let's hope the skies dry up and we can get the season underway.

Hello Everyone!

We are excited to be hosting our Annual Ice Breaker tournament March 28 - 30, 2025 at Sullivan Park (U13) and Softball City (U15, U17, and U19).

I woud like to thank Surrey Storm Fastpitch for their generous assistance at Sullivan Park.

A couple of notes:

SCHEDULE AND APP:
We have made a few changes to the schedule. PLEASE RECHECK YOUR SCHEDULE on the App or you can find it at www.whiterockrenegades.com. There is also a link on the website to our App or you can download in the App store for your mobile device.

SCORES:
As this is an Ice Breaker, we will not be collecting or posting scores.

ROSTERS:
We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties with the App which is making it difficult to submit rosters. I have attached a roster for you to complete and return to this email by no later than Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 12:00 pm. For teams travelling from Alberta, can you please also remit your travel permit/proof of insurance at the same time.

PARKING:
The North (gravel) lot at Softball City will be closed on Friday night until 10:00 am Saturday morning. Please park in adjacent lots surrounding Softball City (South Surrey Arena) and enter through the South Gate across from the arena.

At Sullivan, please abide by all posted parking signs. Pleas do not park in the Sullivan Hall lot or you may risk being towed.

FOOD / CONCESSIONS:
There WILL NOT be a concession at Sullivan Park. Please ensure your team, parents, and fans are aware and ensure you bring food/drinks with you.

However, at Softball City, both the concession and restaurant will be fully operational. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK (other than team water) will be permitted within the perimeter fencing.

RULE HIGHLIGHTS:
Please exchange lineup with your opponent before the game and hand your lineup in to the umpire at the plate.

No infield warmup permitted. Please warmup beyond the Home Run fencing at Softball City and anywhere but Diamonds #1 and #2 at Sullivan. For batting warmup at Softball City, please ensure batters are on the warning track -- not the outfield.

No Mercy Rule: 5-run maximum per inning IN ALL DIVISIONS.

Drop-dead time is 90 minutes. Finish the batter -- with no new inning after 80 minutes of play.

One umpire will be scheduled per game. Umpire's decisions are final. ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ABUSE OF OUR OFFICIALS.

All players may bat and substitutions are permitted in accordance with Softball BC rules.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
The City of Surrey recently upgraded the lights in the park to state-of-the-art LED fixtures. On Friday night, March 28, 2025, the games on D#1 may be interupted/delayed for a short ceremony from Mayor Brenda Locke. Plans with the Mayor's office have not yet been finalized but teams will be informed prior to their games being played. In the case of an interuption, the game will pause and any time missed will be added to the time to ensure the games fulfil their 90-minute drop dead time.
