AFA (Arizona) Summer Cactus League 2024

Hello Coaches & Administrators-

AFA would like to send a HUGE thank you to the participating teams of this Summer's AFA Cactus League!!!

We want to congratulate the first place finishers of each age division, listed below:

CHAMPIONS OF EACH DIVISION:
10u: LEGIT
(LEGIT finished the league with a 7-1 record; giving CK Zona their only loss of the season, barely nudging them out for 1st place finish)

12u: Hotshots-DAlessandro
(Hotshots finished the league with a 6-0-2 record; squeaking out the victory of the league being neck and neck with Pono Athletics-McVey/Taylor-handing them their only loss of the season)

14u: Rascals-S. Gates
(Rascals S Gates took the league with a 5-2-1 record, just beating out AZ Banshees who were 5-3 on the league)

16/18u: Mavericks Fastpitch 16u
(Mavericks Fastpitch went undefeated in the league with an 8-0 record alongside AZ Impact-Estrella/Hill 18u. These two teams did not face off, so head to head was not counted in the final results-the tie breaker being Runs Allowed; where Mavericks only allowed 17 runs and AZ Impact, 20)

Due date for creating your practice/uniform top & placing your orders:
Friday, September 27th 2024
(uniforms normally print and ship 7-10 business days after all orders are placed and paid for by AFA)

Please look out for our next AFA Cactus League which will take place this January, February and into March 2025 for 10u, 12u, and 14u.
***We are pleased to announce that moving forward, the league will end in a top 4 team single elimination bracket play tournament to finalize our winners!!!

Congratulations to all of the girls for all of their hard work this season!!! We hope to see you again in 2025 for either/both of our leagues at Cactus Yards! :)

Good Morning Coaches & Administrators-

AFA Cactus League begins Monday, August 5th-Thursday, August 8th of next week! We are very excited to be hosting all 38 teams for this season!!!

Before you can play your first game, please be sure that you have done the following:
1. Paid your balance in full by 5pm Friday, August 2nd

2. Have your AFA Membership paid for ($45.00 for 2023-2024 season)

(you may use your cell phone number for coach's ID if unsure of this information)

3. Attached ROSTER/LIABILITY waiver form is printed, filled out, signed, and turned in to director's table prior to GAME #1
(you may make changes to your roster up until your 4th game of the league-adding new players/subs, etc. Then your roster will lock. Girls may only play on one team, regardless of age group, for the league. No team hopping)

4. Copy of up to date/current team insurance
Show this with roster/waiver form before GAME #1
(if your insurance expires during league play, and a new COI is provided, we will need to see that one as well at the time of expiration)


5. Cactus Yards bar/restaurant will be open for most of the evenings, but are not guaranteed to stay open the entirety of the event each night. Please plan accordingly. Parking and gates are FREE during the week for league play.
***Coaches/Admin/Scorekeepers, etc- are NOT allowed to consume alcohol and then go coach out on the fields***ZERO TOLERANCE***

League Play Reminders:
1. Unlimited subs for league play
2. You may bat your entire lineup
3. Courtesy runners for pitcher and catcher-last batted out or a sub off the bence
4. 1 plate umpire per game
5. Games are 1:30 no new inning (can end in a tie)

League results will be based on the following criteria for 1st place prizes once we wrap our 8 game series:
1. Win-Loss-Tie Record
2. Head to head (if three way tie or larger-no head to head)
2. Runs Allowed
3. Runs Scored
4. Coin Toss

Our reschedule/rain out dates will be as follows (regardless of age group):
September 9th
September 16th
September 23rd
September 30th
