Good Afternoon Coach-

Cactus Yards has just advised that tonight's Cactus League games have been canceled due to unplayable fields.

Games will be rescheduled to our allocated rain out dates in October, and will be added to the schedule shortly once confirmed with the city.

Thank you for your understanding. We hope to see everyone on dry fields tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday this week!

Good Evening Coaches & Administrators-

Thank you so much for your patience in me getting this schedule to you all. The AFA Summer/Fall Cactus League Schedule is now LIVE on the Exposure website or our AFA app, WESTCOASTAFA.

Please let me know if you see any conflicts with the schedule that absolutely need to be adjusted. I did my best to accommodate as many special requests as I could.

Please keep in mind that this is an 8 game guarantee league, where teams will finish their 8 game schedules at different paces depending on their schedule preferences submitted and also any rain out dates/inclement weather that get added to the end of the schedule in late September/early October.

Based on your schedule, the team listed first (top) will be in the first base dugout, and the team listed second (bottom) will be in the 3rd base dugout. You will coin flip for home/away at the plate meeting. Please provide the umpire with a roster card for batting lineup purposes and to track league players.

***You may bat your entire lineup
***Unlimited substitutions
***Courtesy runners are players who are not in the lineup OR last batted out
***We are running this league for developmental purpose and to get innnings in, so there will be no run rules on any games so that all games go 1:30 no new inning. Please use courtesy with this rule and step off bags to get out of the inning or play players who need more reps if you are beating a team handedly
***Sportsmanship is huge at all times
***1 umpire per field & temporary HR fences
***Gates will open at 5pm each night for warm ups for the 6pm game

There will be a site lead at the fields each night.
Please be sure to check in with either one of them before your first league game to show proof of CURRENT team insurance and to turn in your Roster/Waiver form. We must have all parent signatures on this form, and please include ALL players who will be participating in this league. You have until before the 5th game of league play to make any modifications to your roster form (in case of adding players to your team during tryouts, etc)
***Please make sure that if/when your current insurance policy expires or get renewed that you turn in the most up to date policy coverage for league play as it entends more than one month.

1st place winners for each age division (best record from league play-head to head; runs allowed; runs scored, coin toss) will be awarded new team uniform/practice tops for up to 15 players on the team (additional players over that amount will be able to pay for the additional tops) OR a credit of the same uniform amount for a future AFA AZ event ran by tournament Director Stacey Stepek.

We have had a couple of drops/adds for this August-October 8 game guarantee summer league. We just finalized our team lists and preferences, and will have the schedule out to everyone by noon tomorrow!

Reminder:
10u & 16/18u will be Tuesday/Thursdays
12u & 14u will be Monday/Wednesdays

6pm & 7:45pm game times with 1:30 no new inning time limits
Unlimited subs and courtesy runners-can bat entire lineup

Hard signed copies of rosters must be turned in before your first game & must be locked in before your 5th game of the league.

Hello Coach-

I am taking a poll to see what team's preferred nights are to play in the league. Based on the responses back to this email, I will take the majority preference and we will lock in age groups for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights August-October for your 8 game guarantee league at Cactus Yards.
Games can be 1 or two nights per week, and could be a single game or double header, depending on preferences and the week!

We are still filling in spots and are looking to have all teams locked in and the schedule set by August 1st, 2023. Thank you in advance!
